Hi-Tide Divers “ The dive school that caters for individual’s needs “ offers more than two dozen dive sites within 15-30 minutes of the resort and a very experienced dive team. Our dive schedule is based on the tide and we dive when you want to!
As all the dive site are close to islands they are known as fringe or sloping reef dives, thus making it good for any level of diver as we can choose the depth at which we dive.

All the dive sites fall in the boundaries of the Johor Marine Parks, this keeps commercial fishing and motorised water sport away, and keeps the reefs around Sibu in great condition.

The reefs around Sibu boast a large variety of marine life including: – Many varieties of soft and hard corals
– Reef fishes – Angel, Butterfly and Anemone fish
– Pelagic fishes – Reef shark, Barracuda and Trevally
– Cephalopods – Molluscs, Cuttlefish, Squid and Octopuses

We believe all divers need to learn at their own pace. Need more time? Some individual attention? A little extra practice? We will take the time with each individual student to make this happen. We teach in small groups to make sure that when you finish the course, you are comfortable and safe in the water. We create custom diving experiences for you and your family. With this personal dive experience expect to make friends for life, not only with others that learn alongside you but with your instructor too.

Our house reef boasts a diverse selection of exotic marine life. With water temperatures of up to 30° and calm sea conditions, the Rimba house reef is the perfect place to begin your Open Water course. Situated in the middle of a coral garden is our classroom, a sandy patch in shallow water which is the ideal place to learn new skills, refresh old skills or take your dive certification to the next level.

Our Hi-Tide dive professionals have over 20 years of combined diving experience around the Sibu area and more than 30 years’ experience in the dive industry so you can rest assured that not only are you being taught by the best but that you are in very safe hands. Short on time? We aim to complete our dive courses within a four day period but we are also able to complete the open water course over two separate weekends if that works better for you!

We also offer PADI e-learning which helps complete the theory part of your course before you even start your dive course with Hi-Tide Divers. This gives you a bit more time for relaxing and sunbathing during your stay at the resort.

Rimba boasts a 200 metre vibrant house reef right in front of the resort. This means you can snorkel directly from the beach. The calm conditions in our bay make this the perfect place for any level of snorkeler! Take a ride to one of the three secluded islands no further than 20 minutes away. Most refer to it as a “snorkelling trip” but secretly they just want to be on a boat and relax in the middle of nowhere, catching rays whilst escaping reality for an hour or so. For those who like to relax whilst exploring the underwater world, one of our team will be there to guide you around the ocean surrounding these beautiful islands, alternatively you can go off exploring by yourself. With the chance to see turtles and small reef sharks our local islands are great for family fun and learning.

Jungle Trekking
Exploring the island by foot is a great way to see Pulau Sibu. Take the 20-minute Jungle Trek to Sea Gypsy Resort and you may be lucky enough to see some fascinating wildlife along the way such as; Chinese Water Dragons, Skinks, Monitor lizards and Wild Boar! Take a swim to cool off afterwards at Sea Gypsy Resort which doesn’t have a reef, making it perfect for swimming.

Kampung Duku
If you are feeling adventurous you can take our Jungle Trek and then continue beyond Sea Gypsy Resort to explore the local Island Village known as Kampung Duka. The total time from Rimba Resort to the Kampung Duku will take around an one hour and 15 minutes. Kampung Duku, a small fishing village, is home to around 100 people, and has a few small shops selling snacks and refreshments.

Kayaking and Paddle Boarding
Paddle boarding or Kayaking in the calm bay just off our private beach is fun and relaxing. The water is clear, so be sure to check out all the vibrant signs of life on our house reef just below you! For even more relaxation grab a inner tube from the Dive Center and Beer from the bar and kick back in the sea.

Beach Volleyball
Take your friends and family down to the beach for a game of beach volleyball. The net is already in place, you just need to grab a ball from the dive center.

Bar Games
Our Beach Bar is a great place to chill out and play some games. We have a large selection of card and board games.

Children’s Fun
Our Beach Bar is located in the center of the resort, and has a large lounge area as well as an attached outdoor sundeck. The lounge is stocked with kids toys, and we also have a selection of games, and movies for the little ones as well.
