SNORKELLING AT RIMBA RESORT
Rimba Resort offers several great options for snorkelling around Sibu Island. Bring our own equipment or rent some from our dive centre, we are here to help anyway we can. Our snorkelling trips are fun and suitable for all ages. We hope to see you at the dive centre and in the water soon!
House Reef
Swim out to our vibrant and colourful house reef in only a few minutes. The reef extends over the entire northern side of island, and is bursting with aquatic life.
Your first glimpse will offer a variety of both hard and soft corals, anemones, and fish. “Nemo” loves to hang out in the anemones just off shore, so be sure to say hi on your way out.
The reef then gradually slopes down reaching a depth of 8 meters, perfect for those adventurous enough to try free diving! Huge coral structures form canyons which are abundant with fish.
Renting snorkeling equipment is quick and easy from our dive centre located just next to the beach.

Snorkelling trip to uninhabited islands
3 Hours
Our dive centre organises daily snorkel excursions to uninhabited islands in the South China Sea. Only 20 minutes away and you will arrive on the white sandy beaches of either Lima Besar or Mentiggi. Here guests will have 3 full hours to do as you please!
Grab your snorkel gear and head just off shore to begin exploring the amazing reefs surrounding these islands. Explore vast anemone gardens, swim with the colourful parrot fish, or discover where the reef sharks like to hang out. Afterwards, head back to the beach for fresh fruit, and icy cool water, while you lounge on a beach mat (all provided for you by our staff).
The snorkelling trip is fun for everyone, from experienced snorkellers, to first timers, and children. A highly trained snorkel guide will accompany you on this trip, but feel free to explore on your own as well.

Night Snorkelling Tour
1 hour – departs nightly at 8:30pm *tide dependent*
Join us on a night adventure to explore the mysterious dark underwater world of our house reef. It comes alive at night, revealing creatures rarely or never seen during the day. A highly trained guide will accompany you and help you spot elusive creatures! Cuttlefish, stingrays and octopuses and can all be spotted and, if you are lucky, maybe even a sea turtle and a black tip reef shark!
One more aspect of a night snorkel that is sure to please everyone is the magical phosphorescent plankton which light up the water in a churning swirl of glowing and sparkling light as you swim by.
What ever you see, it is sure to be an unforgettable experience, and is appropriate for all ages and levels.
